On May 24, we were proud to take part as sponsors in the III Maimón Trail, held in Vélez-Blanco (Almería), set against the stunning backdrop of the Sierra María–Los Vélez Natural Park.
It was a day that proved to be far more than just a sporting event
From early in the morning, beside Vélez-Blanco Castle — the race’s start and finish point — there was that special atmosphere found only at events like this: excitement, focus, and a shared determination to take on the challenge ahead.
The event brought together more than 450 participants in the hiking and running categories, covering distances of 24 and 13 kilometers. All of them shared a common goal: taking on a demanding and spectacular route through the mountains of Maimón and the surrounding landscape, combining trails, forest tracks, and rugged off-road terrain.
Along the route, participants passed through some of the area’s most iconic landmarks, such as Maimón Chico, the Arco del Maimón Grande, the Senda de los Tacones, and the Fuente del Peral, as well as the renowned Cueva de los Letreros. A course that not only tested physical endurance but also left a lasting impression thanks to the extraordinary beauty of the surroundings.
But beyond the course itself, the Maimón Trail is, above all, about people. It brings together those who train for weeks to reach the starting line, those who accompany, cheer, and wait at the finish line, and everyone who works behind the scenes to ensure the event runs smoothly.
For Torrents Defense Support, it has been a true honor and privilege to support this initiative. The values behind this event strongly resonate with us: promoting healthy lifestyles, effort, self-improvement, and a deep connection to the region where we operate.
We would like to thank the Vélez-Blanco City Council, the organizers, and everyone involved in making a day like this possible. We know the level of commitment required to organize an event of this nature, and we especially appreciate the hard work, dedication, and care with which it was carried out.
And, of course, our congratulations go to all the participants: to those who crossed the finish line, but also to everyone who embraced the challenge, because every step reflects the determination that defines races like this.
Below, we share the video recap of the III Maimón Trail, capturing some of the most memorable moments of the day.
