Stories from within: what it’s like to work at Torrents, told by the people who make it possible

At Torrents Defense Support, we manufacture high-precision textile products for the defence sector. But day by day, we also build a working environment based on respect, trust, and genuine commitment.

Today, we want to share some real stories from people who are part of our team — because no one can explain what it means to work at Torrents better than they can.

Josefina Martínez Jiménez – Sewing Operator

“My job here is sewing saquetes. I’ve done it before, I do it now, and I love it. I first started at Torrents in the 90s, stayed for a while, left due to personal circumstances… but I came back gladly. And that says it all. If I didn’t feel comfortable here, I wouldn’t have returned.

Even though the company has grown — it’s bigger, there are more people, more technology — it still has what I always liked about it: the camaraderie, the peace of mind, the family-like atmosphere. People here genuinely care about our wellbeing.

To me, that’s what makes Torrents special: the closeness and the human touch. Sometimes people ask me if the company has changed a lot. And I always say: yes, it’s grown… but what truly matters has stayed the same”.

María Reche – Sewing Operator

“I started at Torrents in 1996, and it feels like I’ve spent half my life here. I’ve loved sewing since I was a child, and here I get to do it every day with care and precision, because we know how important our work is to ensure everything goes right.

The company has grown a lot in recent years — you can feel it in the atmosphere, in the quality of our work, and in the attention to detail.

But what I value the most is the camaraderie. There’s a good atmosphere here, a real sense of closeness. I feel the team is part of my family. And yes, we laugh a lot too. There’s always a funny story to share… it’s those little things that make working here so special”.

Sonia Benítez Navarro – Cleaning Services

“I’ve been at Torrents for just over a year and a half, and I had never worked in a company with so many people before. From the very first day I felt welcomed — and that makes all the difference. The atmosphere here is great, and even though I haven’t been here as long as some of my colleagues, I really feel part of the team”.

Marisol Gómez López – Sewing Operator

“I remember my first day at Torrents very clearly: I was nervous, but everyone was kind and supportive.

I started without knowing how to do much, but over time I’ve learned a lot and now I’m responsible for checking that each saquete is correctly finished.

What I value the most is how approachable our managers are — they’re also very thoughtful — and the team spirit among all of us.

Here, we challenge ourselves every day. But we also have a lot of fun. On special occasions, we’ve even dressed up in costumes — no one saw it coming!. It’s those little surprises that make coming to work something to look forward to”.

A growing company that stays true to its roots

Beyond the technology, precision, or production capacity, there is one thing that has never changed at Torrents: the value of people.

Listening to those who have spent years working here — and those who’ve only just joined — reminds us that growing with purpose is possible.

And that the best teams are not built by machines, but by respect, trust, and shared commitment.
