It was Christmas, 1978. The couple Vicente and Isabel decided to take a leap and change the course of their lives. They left behind the familiar and set out to start their own business. With two young daughters — one just over three years old, the other barely one — they moved to Vélez Rubio (Almería) in search of a future they couldn’t yet imagine.
At first, they did a bit of everything: from painting advertising signs for the 1982 World Cup, to collaborating with Lavanda Puig, and taking on small jobs… Until, almost by chance, came their first big opportunity: a sewing workshop in Granada. Within half an hour, they’d made the decision: “We’re moving to Granada”. And that’s where this story began.
Isabel Girona, an expert in sewing and organisation, and Vicente, a skilled toolmaker, well-versed in technical drawings and manufacturing. Together, they built a small workshop that steadily grew — thanks to their commitment to quality, respect for clients and suppliers, and a work ethic they passed on to their daughters from a young age.
The girls grew up among fabric offcuts, climbing over piles of cloth while sewing machines hummed around them. And without even realising it, they learned that a family business is more than just work — it’s a way of life.
Today, over 40 years later, Isabel and Eva — Eva and Isabel — proudly continue what their parents began. With the same passion, the same values, and the same dedication.
Torrents is more than just a company. It’s the story of a family that chose to build — and continues to weave — its own path.
