It was Christmas 1978. Vicente and Isabel, a married couple, decided to turn their lives around. They left behind everything they knew and set out to start their own business. With two young daughters, aged three and a half and just one year old, they moved to Vélez Rubio (Almería), seeking a future they did not yet know what it would hold.
At first, they did everything from painting advertisements for the 1982 World Cup and collaborating with Lavanda Puig to taking on small commissions… and then, almost by chance, their first big opportunity came along: a clothing workshop in Granada. In just half an hour, they made the decision: ‘We’re going to Granada.’ And that’s how this story began.
The mother, Isabel Girona, was an expert in sewing and organisation; the father, Vicente, was a toolmaker, skilled in plans and techniques. Together, they set up a small workshop that grew thanks to their excellent work, respect for customers and suppliers, and an ethic that they taught their daughters from a very young age.
The two daughters grew up surrounded by scraps of fabric, climbing on piles of clothes while the sewing machines ran non-stop. Without even realising it, they learned that a family business is much more than just a job: it is also a life project.
Today, more than 40 years later, Isabel and Eva, Eva and Isabel are proud to continue leading what their parents started. With the same passion, the same values, and the same dedication.
Torrents is not just a company. It is the story of a family that decided to build and continue to “weave” their own path.
