Stories from within (II): the team that “stitches together” the history of Torrents

At Torrents Defence Support, every thread that is sewn has a story, and each of those stories has its own name. Those who, through their hard work and commitment, sustain the heart of our company: the sewing team.

Once again, we share some testimonials from those individuals who, from their positions, make it possible for Torrents to function with precision, respect, and humility.

Some of them have just arrived, others have returned after a while, and there are those who already feel at home at Torrents Defense Support.

Enrique Mendoza Soto

I started working here in January 2024. I had already worked in sewing, but in Torrents everything was new to me. I had to learn the codes, the way of working… and little by little I adapted. Now I operate the double-needle machine and really enjoy what I do.

What I value most is the organisation and camaraderie. For me, that is fundamental here.

One of the things I liked most was last Christmas party: sharing with everyone, laughing, being able to disconnect from daily chores… it was very special.

I have been working here for two years and what I like most is the atmosphere: calm, friendly and welcoming. We all have good days and bad days, but here you know you can count on the team.

It is a family business with a long history, and this is evident in the way they treat their customers.

What I value most is being able to communicate with those in charge when you need to. Most of us here are mothers, and there is understanding and flexibility to help us balance work and family life. That means that when extra effort is needed, you are also willing to give it. I do it.

I have been with the company for 7-8 months. I loved my first day; they made it very easy for me, and all my colleagues were very friendly. From day one, my colleagues made it very easy for me. They were all very kind.

I have heard a lot about the history of the company, from those who have been here for many years, and that makes you feel like you are part of something bigger.

I like the working environment; it’s different. And there are also anecdotes: some words here have a different meaning in my country… and that makes for a lot of laughs!

I have known Torrents forever. My mother worked here from the age of 14, and I had already been with the company before returning in 2020. Today, more than half of our family works here.

It’s special. There is respect, humanity, and they help you grow. I remember that, during the pandemic, there were only five of us left, processing orders until the early hours of the morning.

There is also a lot of laughter, trust, affection… and it shows. We know when it’s time to joke around and when it’s time to focus.
