Stories from within (III): the people who help Torrents move forward

At Torrents Defence Support, every position counts. Because behind every high-precision textile product there is a chain of people who work with commitment, attention to detail and a clear dedication to continuous improvement.

Today we are adding new voices to this series of testimonials that showcase the most valuable asset of our company: our people.

Inma Calvo Daza – Director of Quality and Personnel

I have been with the company since September 2014. I remember my first day perfectly: I arrived asking if they needed anyone, and when they told me there were 550 pieces to sew, I replied, “Okay, I’ll do it”. When at 1:30 in the afternoon I only had 70, I went to find Isabel and asked her if she could come in the afternoon. He said to me, ‘Of course.’ And that’s how it all began.

Since then, Inma has grown with the company and now coordinates two key areas: quality and human resources. His day-to-day work consists of organising the team and ensuring that delivery deadlines are met.

What I enjoy most is that it doesn’t cost me anything to come to work. My colleagues are like family to me. No one is above anyone else: we are all pulling in the same direction. Those in charge care about us, about product quality, and about helping us grow personally and professionally. That makes all the difference.“.

Linda Marcos – Garment Worker

New to Torrents, Linda is quickly settling into the team. I have experience in sewing in my country, Peru, but here it is different: there I worked with garments and here with more specific products. I like sewing, I enjoy it. It’s easier than I thought and I’m already getting on very well with my colleagues.

In these first few weeks, the quality of the work and punctuality stand out as hallmarks of the company. But above all, value camaraderie. ‘That’s what I like most about working here.’

Sonia Elisabeth Bernabé Cañal – Seamstress

Sonia arrived in Spain 24 years ago from Ecuador and has been part of Torrents for three years. ‘I’ve worked in many places, but this is one of the places where I’ve felt most comfortable. I love sewing and I feel valued and very respected.’

She remembers her early days with a smile: ‘At first I was shy, but they welcomed me warmly. When we started sewing, some pieces didn’t turn out perfectly, and they sent them back to us! But we learned together, and now it’s a source of laughter among colleagues.’

For her, the most special thing is the team spirit: ‘When there is an urgent order, we all pull together to get it done. We work together for the common good. And it is that unity that makes us different.’

People who build, every day, the essence of Torrents

These testimonials reflect the strength of a diverse and committed team. A team that grows, learns and supports each other.

And every day proves that the values that have guided us for more than four decades—respect, camaraderie, excellence—are more alive than ever, driving our present and future.
